  • Site improvements to support pedestrian access, gathering and community use

                Green-circle-plus-icon  Project Overview

After acquiring the former Ellison Flour Mill property, the owner set out to repurpose the historic buildings and surrounding exterior space into a landmark restaurant and entertainment destination for downtown Fountain Inn.

P+F Construction was engaged early in the planning process, helping develop a thoughtful scope and budget that aligned with the Owner’s vision and the complexities of restoring a historic property. After nearly two years of planning, P+F broke ground in February 2023, working alongside Project Plus to refurbish three historic buildings totaling 13,000 square feet on the site of the former Ellison Flour Mill.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the property required careful planning, sequencing and preservation-minded construction practices. P+F restored, preserved and repurposed much of the original material while reinforcing the structural integrity of the existing buildings before new work could begin.

Today, The Mill at Fountain Inn includes Fountain Inn Brewing, a food hall, common gathering areas and expansive outdoor green space with additional seating and a large video screen for community events and entertainment.

P+F helped bring new life to one of Fountain Inn’s most recognizable historic properties, transforming a complex and deteriorated site into a destination that supports downtown growth, local business and community gathering.

Through early planning, detailed sequencing and close collaboration with the owner and design team, P+F successfully delivered a highly intricate historic preservation project that balanced the character of the original property with the functional needs of a modern restaurant and entertainment venue.

“P+F says they are all about people, and I can honestly say that they are some of the best I’ve ever worked with in my real estate career. The Mill at Fountain Inn was a highly complex project. P+F served us from design concept through execution, successfully completing a very detail-oriented project full of intricate sequencing and logistic concentrations. I would recommend P+F to any company or person in need of a professionally delivered construction effort from start to finish.”
