  • Fire protection system for the new addition

  • MEP systems delivered through a design-build approach

Green-circle-plus-icon  Project Overview

As Upstate Church Harrison Bridge continued to grow, the church needed additional worship, gathering and ministry space to better serve its members, guests and children’s ministry.

P+F Construction was selected as the Construction Manager At-Risk, providing preconstruction, design-build MEP and construction services. During preconstruction, P+F worked closely with the owner and design team to evaluate multiple structural systems and develop a scope and budget that aligned with the church’s goals. After reviewing three different structural approaches, the team selected a pre-engineered metal building structure with finishes designed to achieve the feel of traditional construction.

Because the new worship addition connected to an existing facility, P+F provided constructability solutions that allowed the new addition to be sprinklered while a fire separation wall helped protect the existing building, saving costs. This early planning helped the church move into construction with a defined scope, approved budget and clear path forward.

P+F completed the project ahead of the contractual schedule while generating GMP savings that helped the owner fund added scope. The completed addition allows Upstate Church Harrison Bridge to comfortably welcome more members and guests in a new worship center, while also creating much-needed space for the children’s ministry to continue growing. Throughout construction, P+F worked closely with the church to accommodate weekly assemblies and maintain ongoing ministry operations.

“P+F Construction delivered our Harrison Bridge expansion project on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality. Their team went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, keeping our church accessible every Sunday. They provided creative solutions and clear communication every step of the way to ensure a seamless process.”
